Frequently Asked
Questions
Find quick answers to common questions regarding eSIM installation, compatibility, payments, and activation.
Q What is an eSIM and how does it work?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built directly into your phone’s hardware. It allows you to download a mobile data plan without needing a physical plastic SIM card. Once purchased, you simply scan a QR code to install and activate your profile instantly.
Q How do I know if my phone is compatible with eSIM?
Most recent smartphones released in recent years (such as iPhone XS/newer, Samsung Galaxy S20/newer, and recent Google Pixel devices) support eSIM technology. Additionally, your device must be network unlocked by your carrier. You can check our device compatibility guide or dial *#06# to check your EID status.
Q When should I install my eSIM QR code?
We strongly recommend scanning and installing your eSIM profile while you are still at home or at the airport using a stable Wi-Fi connection before your departure. However, do not turn on Data Roaming until you arrive at your travel destination.
Q When does the data validity period start?
The validity period of your data plan typically starts automatically the moment your eSIM connects to a supported local network partner in the destination country.
Q Can I keep my primary WhatsApp number active?
Yes! Your primary physical SIM card remains in your phone for WhatsApp and calls, while your Indoesim eSIM handles high-speed mobile data. You don't need to change or log out of your WhatsApp account.
Q What payment methods are accepted?
We accept local payment methods (Bank Virtual Accounts, QRIS, E-Wallets like GoPay/OVO/Dana) as well as international options like PayPal and Credit/Debit Cards (Visa/Mastercard).
